Without the community’s generous support, the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation’s vital efforts would fall drastically short of the needs of children in foster care in AZ and their foster families. And now, giving has never been easier, thanks to the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit Program.

How to Donate and Receive an AZ Tax Credit

When you donate to the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation, you’ll receive a dollar-for-dollar Arizona tax credit. This means that not only will you have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of AZ children in foster care, but you’ll also benefit from tax time.

Essentially, this tax incentive law allows Arizona taxpayers to have in say in where state funding goes. As a taxpayer, you can use your donation to support charitable organizations and causes such as ours, then be reimbursed by the state. It’s an empowering way to utilize your voice to contribute to our community’s bettering, enabling essential organizations such as ours to continue our work for Arizona families.

If you file as an individual, you can qualify for up to $500 in tax credit, while couples may receive up to $1000 in total. Once you’ve completed your donation, simply keep a copy of the information for your records. Whether you file your taxes independently or choose a professional service, claiming the tax credit for your gift to the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation is easy.

Your Donation Helps Foster Children and Families in Arizona

In Arizona, foster parents are provided with state assistance to cover costs such as healthcare, dental care, childcare, and need-based post-secondary education scholarships. Also, they typically receive a small stipend for the child’s basic needs.

However, like all parents, foster parents hope to provide a better quality of life for the children in their care. This means going above and beyond the bare necessities, and ensuring that the child is comfortable, happy, and well-cared for. Depending on each child’s unique needs, a foster parent may often pay for school activities, clothing, and special experiences, such as trips to the local zoo.

At the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation, we believe that children in foster care deserve the same opportunities as other children their age. As a result, our mission is to help fill the gaps in state funding, directly serving underserved children in foster care. When you contribute to our organization, your dollars are utilized by programs that always put children in foster care first, such as Keys to Success.

The Keys to Success program was founded to support children that will soon be aging out of the foster care system, helping them build a solid foundation of resources and skills to move forward successfully as an adult. The program is open to local youth between the ages of 16 and 21, specifically those in foster care (or were in care at the age of 18). Employment preparation, independent living skills development, and career planning are Keys to Success, guiding teens in foster care toward a brighter future.
