We are excited to introduce our new executive director, Luis De La Cruz, who steps into the role as long-time director Kris Jacober retires.
Luis joins Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation as an alumnus of Arizona’s foster care system and a former AFFCF scholar. He comes to us from Deloitte, the largest consulting company in the world, where he spent six years working to help multi-national corporations navigate regulatory, business, economic and social forces.
When asked about his educational and professional achievements, Luis credits the work of an entire community, starting with AFFCF, that made his success possible.
“Improving the lives of children that experience foster care is personal to me. I do not pretend to have the answer nor do I fail to acknowledge the gravity of the task, but I know first-hand what someone in the system is capable of achieving when a community of dedicated people and organizations come together and work to solve an impossible problem.”
Luis is an ASU Barrett Honors College alum and has two business degrees from the W.P. Carey School of Business, where he also wrote an award-winning thesis on U.S. Immigration Law. Luis received his master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.
