As a participant in our Keys to Success (KTS) program, Emily is one of many youths that your foster care tax credit donations helps. Emily has overcome a lot of hardships in her short life. She was removed from her biological mother due to neglect and currently lives with a relative.
Despite all the many obstacles in her way, Emily is in 11th grade, making all As and Bs. With a little help from AFFCF she’s dually enrolled in high school and community college. Emily also volunteers at a local hospital in her spare time. And through the KTS program, Emily recently landed her first job at McDonald’s!
Figuring Out Tomorrow
Emily thinks about her future and she knows she wants to go to college. She doesn’t know what she wants to do professionally, but she is interested in business and wants to work in a helping profession. Enter the KTS program!
Becoming involved in KTS is helping Emily plan the path for her future. With the support and encouragement of her career development specialist, she has the ability to explore the different career and education options that are possible. She’s also able to connect and tap into other resources that will help her once she decides on an area of focus.
Future So Bright
Her career development specialist says that Emily is a superstar. She’s just getting started and we can’t wait to see how bright her future gets!
