January is an exciting time for the AFFCF Scholarship program! Members of the AFFCF Scholarship Committee reviewed and awarded 11 new AFFCF scholarships for the Spring 2022 semester, bringing the total number of AFFCF scholars to 70!
Ringing in the New Semester
Additionally, January marks the start of a new semester and AFFCF staff, board members, and members of the scholarship committee hosted a series of start-of-the-semester dinners for students! It was a time to catch up with students, hear their perspectives and learn more about their ideas for additional support the AFFCF scholarship program can provide.
Three Northern Arizona University students attended the start-of-the-semester dinner in Flagstaff, while 10 Arizona State University, GCU, and Maricopa Community College students attended the dinner in Scottsdale. Last, but not least, four University of Arizona and Pima Community College students attended the start-of-the-semester dinner in Tucson.
We wish all our scholars good luck as they begin a new semester and continue working toward their education goals!
Support our Scholars
Without the AFFCF scholarship, young adults who aged out of foster care might not have the means to pursue their educational dreams and create better futures for themselves. Supporting these young men and women is a win-win when you make a foster care tax credit donation to Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation. They win by being able to pursue their academic goals. You win with a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona state taxes, up to $500 for individuals and up to $1,000 for couples. Please consider a donation today!
