Keys to Success: Braelynn

Featured image for post: Keys to Success: Braelynn

When she first enrolled in the Keys to Success program, Braelynn was rather shy and quiet. She told us she loved photography and envisioned one day attending Arizona State University to study photojournalism. She had an immediate goal of getting a job, preferably in retail.

On the Search

Working with her KTS employment development specialist, Rina Grocke, Braelynn began submitting job applications, including Goodwill. Rina met with her to help her follow up on applications in person and started with a visit to Goodwill. Not only was Braelynn granted an on-the-spot interview, but she was also offered a position immediately!

The typically timid teenager began her new job working on the floor, where she organized the racks and shelves. Within a couple of weeks, Braelynn transitioned to a cashier position. Her EDS stopped by Goodwill to check on her and was amazed.

“I walked into the Goodwill and saw a very energetic young woman. She was outgoing and personable with the customers and appeared very confident and energetic.”

Newfound Confidence

“When I first met Braelynn, she was rather shy and quiet,” said Grocke. “I walked into the Goodwill and saw a very energetic young woman. She was outgoing and personable with the customers and appeared very confident and energetic.”

Braelynn told her EDS that she loves interacting with customers, thanking her for the push to get her out of her comfort zone. Since being hired at Goodwill, Braelynn has been a very reliable employee!
